As early as in later 2002, while Epson 7600/9600/10600 printers were popular in China, Hongsam developed nano pigment ink for above printer models, and applied for patent of “Century Clear Color” brand. The “Century Clear Color” pigment ink is recognized by vast users and is a milestone in China’s history of manufacturing inkjet inks.
Competing with the pigment ink from South Korea and Taiwan, Hongam’s pigment ink is recognized by vast customers, and Hongsam becomes a famous brand. Its products are exported to Canada, USA, France, Italy, etc. european countries and southeast Africa.
While digital camera is getting more and more popular, digital printing becomes the main method of output. Therefore, in July 2004, Hongsam released six-color pigment ink instead of the dye ink for desktop printers, avoiding color fading, bleeding etc. traditional problems. The six-color pigment ink is suitable for EPSON 830/1270/1290, R210/310/510, 7000/9000/7500/9500, 10000, etc. printers. According to testing, Hongsam six-color pigment ink’s lightfastness is about 50 to 300 times than original dye ink, which is an éclat in the industry.
In Mar. 2004, Hongsam released eight-color pigment ink for Epson R800, showing its high ability in developing new products, breaking the monopolization state of foreign countries in inkjet inks, making customers have a wider choice.
Here are several FAQs of Hongsam “Century Clear Color” pigment ink:
I. Why “Century Clear Color” pigment ink has a high lightfastness?
Hongsam imported nano pigment from European countries and USA to manufacture “Century Clear Color” pigment ink. The chemical inertia of pigment decides its long fastness that dye ink can not reach.
Chemical inertia indicates it is difficult for pigment to react with other matters, which will cause color fading. The reason why dye ink is easily faded under light, ozone, water, etc is that the dye material has high chemical activity.
That decides the prints of pigment ink can be kept 75-100 years, therefore it is called “Century Clear Color”.
II. Why “Century Clear Color” won’t clog print head?
The first question while using compatible ink is that whether it will clog the print head. According to more than one and a half years’ experience among vast customers, we have never met a clogging or damaging which caused by “Century Clear Color” pigment ink. Why? That is because the raw material is highly dispersed nano colophony pigment, whose biggest particle is one hundredth or one two hundredth of the diameter of print nozzle.
Hongsam adopts special disperse technology, making the pigment particle disperse in ink system equably, which is more suitable than traditional pigment ink, avoiding congregation and deposition of pigment, therefore protect the print head.
Therefore, the distributor of Hongsam is Jiangsu province promised in China firstly that if clogging of print head happens because of using “Century Clear Color” pigment ink, they will be in charge of repair and compensation.
III. Why “Century Clear Color” pigment ink is much cheaper than OEM ink while with similar quality?
That is because it is a Chinese brand inkjet ink which has its own patent, except the raw material is imported, other technology and manufacturing is processed in China, which reduce the produce costs largely. Moreover, Hongsam only retain limited profits and share other profits with users.
IV. Why prints of “Century Clear Color” pigment ink is much vivider than prints of traditional pigment ink?
“Century Clear Color” pigment ink adopts the colophony encapsulated technology, turning the diffuse reflection of pigment ink on media to mirror reflection, improving the transparency of prints by pigment ink. The prints have fine color deoxidization and outstanding performance. Its color deoxidization covers the color deoxidization of normal printing and halide-silver photos, making digital pre-pressing which require accurate color possible to realize.
V. Why “Century Clear Color” pigment ink has high resistance to water?
Comparing with dye ink which is soluble in water, its colorant has high resistance to water. Pigment is not soluble in water, and because of the encapsulated colophony, the printed ink will form a layer of film which is waterproof, avoiding fading or bleeding because of water.
VI. Why “Century Clear Color” pigment ink has wide media compatibility?
Chemical property of “Century Clear Color” pigment ink decides its wide media compatibility, such as printing on film, cooperplate paper and textile fabrics.
To reduce costs, we can print on cheap colloidal coating photo paper with “Century Clear Color” pigment ink. Cheap non-waterproof photo paper is applied in digital image industry.
VII. Why “Century Clear Color” pigment ink is environmental friendly?
“Century Clear Color” pigment ink is water-based, which has the property of high color saturation and super resistance to water and light of solvent ink, and the property of environmental friendly of water based dye ink. Therefore, it surely will be the trend of water based inkjet ink.
At last, we recommend some solution, such as compatible cartridges with 220ml pigment ink for Epson large format printers. It is user friendly. Meanwhile, we can make ICC profile for particular customers.
With the ideal of “Science, Honestness, Transcendency, Environmentalism", Hongsam always regards “preparing food for each new printer model” as its responsibility.
