The 2026 Shanghai All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) grandly opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. As a highly anticipated annual event in the global leather industry, the venue was packed with visitors and the atmosphere was exceptionally lively.
At this exhibition, Zhengzhou HONGSAM Technology Co., Ltd. became the absolute center of attention. From the moment the exhibition began, the HONGSAM booth at E1-D18b was packed with leather manufacturers, automotive interior brands, footwear material suppliers, and home décor designers from around the world.
Inquiries and discussions continued without interruption, and staff were fully occupied. HONGSAM’s strong technical capabilities not only impressed domestic peers but also attracted global attention from the leather industry. Visitors from Italy, New Zealand, Slovenia, India, Russia, Mongolia, Bangladesh, South Korea, Pakistan, Nigeria, Colombia, South Africa, and many other countries and regions stopped to view the displays and engage in detailed discussions.
Overseas customers gave high marks to the Hong-Jet® solution for its environmental certifications (OEKO-TEX®), automotive-grade abrasion resistance, and refined color performance. Many took samples for professional industry testing. This highlighted the international competitiveness of “Made in China” in the field of leather digital printing and showed that HONGSAM’s water-based digital printing solution is accelerating its expansion into global markets.
During the exhibition, Mr. Li, Director of the Hong-Jet Division at HONGSAM, delivered a presentation titled “Inkjet Printing Technology Supporting Innovative Applications and Development in the Leather Industry.” Drawing on industry pain points, technical breakthroughs, product advantages, and successful case studies, he offered a substantive and practical overview of advanced printing solutions to media representatives and professional attendees.
1. Addressing the Challenges: Limitations of Traditional Printing and UV Digital Printing
Mr. Li stated that the leather and automotive interior industries are currently facing significant upgrading challenges:
· Traditional printing: Limited color options, difficulty achieving complex textures and fine gradients; high minimum order quantities and long production cycles that easily lead to excess inventory.
· UV digital printing: Noticeable odor, potential risks associated with photoinitiators, and relatively weak physical durability, with patterns prone to cracking and peeling.
· Rise of new energy vehicles and personalized consumption: The market urgently needs flexible manufacturing solutions that support small-batch, multi-variety production with strong environmental performance.
2. Flagship Solution: Hong-Jet® Water-Based Latex Eco-Friendly Digital Printing System
In response to these challenges, HONGSAM introduced the Hong-Jet® solution (powered by the HJ-1808L water-based eco-friendly latex printing equipment), which effectively addresses the key issues.
1. Outstanding environmental performance and standard-setting role: As a national high-tech enterprise and the first inkjet company listed on the China NEEQ, HONGSAM has led or participated in the formulation of nine national and industry standards, including the “Limitations of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) Content in Inks.” The products have obtained the authoritative German OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT certification and SGS testing, ensuring they are environmentally friendly and odor-free.
2. Automotive-grade durability and strong physical performance:
- Lightfastness reaches Grade 7 (passed SGS aging resistance testing);
- Flex and stretch resistance passed GB/T 2726 testing with no surface damage or cracking;
- Dry, wet, and cold flex tests showed no cracking (GB/T 2714);
- Resistant to abrasion from alcohol, acetone, acetic acid, and other chemical reagents.
3. High precision and flexible customization: No plate fees and printing available from as little as one meter. The system achieves ultra-high-precision gradient colors and complex patterns while preserving the original soft, skin-friendly hand feel of the leather. It can also be combined with traditional processes such as embroidery and punching to create striking CMF visual effects.
During the presentation and exhibition, HONGSAM shared a series of strong practical application cases that impressed the audience:
· BYD automotive interiors: Custom interiors for the BYD SEALION 7 in collaboration with Inter Milan, accurately reproducing the club’s logo and distinctive design lines. The BYD SONG PLUS features HONGSAM’s gradient printing technology, delivering smooth and refined color transitions on seats and steering wheels.
· ANTA youth training football shoes: Using HONGSAM’s water-based latex eco-friendly digital printing, the footwear successfully passed over 300,000 flex durability tests.
· SLEEMON™ premium furniture: Mattress products endorsed by Meyer Musk utilize HONGSAM’s water-based eco-friendly latex printing, ensuring green, non-toxic, odor-free materials that support healthy sleep.
· Custom CMF floor mats and door panel/dashboard designs featuring traditional Chinese landscape motifs: Rapid iteration at low cost enables high emotional value and differentiated market positioning.
